In plain terms: BridgeAble Learning helps you find people who may be able to help your child. We don't check them out for you, and we're not involved in what happens next. That part is yours — and this page explains exactly what that means, so there are no surprises.
What BridgeAble Learning is
We are a directory. We bring together information about SEN tutors and alternative learning providers so families can find them in one place, organised by the things that matter — your child's needs, and where you are. That is the whole of what we do.
What we are not
We are not an agency, an introducer, or an employer of any provider listed here. We don't take a commission, we don't match you with anyone, and we don't sit between you and the provider you choose to contact. When you send an enquiry, you are contacting them directly — we simply pass the message on.
We do not verify providers
This is the most important thing on this page, so we'll say it plainly. The information on a listing — qualifications, experience, DBS status, everything — is stated by the provider themselves. We do not check it, confirm it, or vouch for it. A listing on BridgeAble Learning is not a recommendation, an endorsement, or any kind of assurance that a provider is suitable, qualified, or safe. It means only that the provider offers a service and appears in our directory.
We use the phrase "as stated by the provider" throughout the site for exactly this reason. Please read it literally.
Your responsibility before engaging anyone
Because we don't verify, you should. Before your child works with any provider, we strongly recommend that you:
- Ask to see qualifications and confirm them with the relevant body where you can.
- Ask to see an enhanced DBS certificate (the check that covers people working with children) and confirm it is current.
- Ask for references, meet the provider, and trust your own judgement.
- Take the same care you would when choosing anyone to work with your child — because that is exactly what this is.
If anything ever worries you about a provider's conduct towards a child, contact the people who can act: call 999 in an emergency, the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000, your local council's children's services, or the police on 101. We are a directory and cannot investigate — but please also tell us, and we can remove a listing while the right people look into it.
The information here
We work to keep listings accurate, but we can't guarantee that every detail is current or correct — providers change what they offer, and some listings are created from publicly available information before a provider has confirmed them. If you spot something wrong, or you're a provider who wants a listing corrected or removed, tell us through Report a concern or Request removal, and we'll act quickly.
Where responsibility sits
To the fullest extent the law allows, BridgeAble Learning is not responsible for the conduct, quality, safety, or outcomes of any provider listed in the directory, or for any agreement you enter into with them. That relationship is between you and the provider. This does not affect any of your legal rights that cannot be excluded — and nothing here limits our liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.
